The classic moto jacket has been a trend since forever – you simply can’t go wrong with the iconic black leather jacket.
I’m sure you probably have your very own black moto jacket in your closet right now (if you don’t, you can always grab a quality leather or faux leather one at Shopbop!), so let’s talk about ways to spice up the iconic jacket.

#1: Pick a Light Color
Most people who decide to stray from classic black still opt for a darker color. Why not try a lighter color? Bright colors are such a stark contrast from darker hues and can also add some versatility for transitional seasons such as fall or spring.
I love this blush suede moto jacket from Members Only: it’s made of faux suede and is the perfect blush tone to compliment my Valentino Rockstud-inspired shoes. It’s also currently on sale from $180 to $70!

#2: Go Oversized
Slouchy fits and oversized jackets are not only eccentric, but they’re comfy for those days where you feel like you want a more relaxed fit. This Members Only jacket is actually a men’s jacket that I got in a size small, and the oversized fit adds some shape to my form-fitting pants and outfit. Not only that, but the oversized fit and faux-fur lined collar adds some texture to the boring old black moto jacket.
FYI, my jacket is also on sale from $180 to $120! Shop it here.

#3: Try Suede Instead of Regular Leather
Although regular leather is more durable, you can always try a suede jacket to switch up the texture of the jacket. Suede offers a nice muted tone to colored jackets, so it’s a great finish to try a new color if you prefer a more subtle look.
Real suede might be more high-maintenance since you can’t wear it in the rain and can also be more expensive, but you can always try a faux suede if you want the same texture without the upkeep and necessary prevention against the elements. My camel-colored suede jacket was actually purchased from Forever 21 last winter, but you can shop similar faux suede moto jackets here.
