Although I encourage a practical approach when it comes to money, I’m also big on a spiritual approach and always try to encourage a more positive mindset surrounding wealth. Money is an extremely emotional topic, and negative perspectives about it are often created through traumatic experiences where money was either a major stressor, worry, or simply inaccessible. However, shifting your mindset from a place of scarcity and lack to a place of abundance and prosperity is sometimes all you need to align your mindset with your financial goals.

According to the laws of manifestation, you must think positively in order to attract more of what you want. If you believe rich people are evil or corrupt, then how can you expect to become rich yourself if your perception of rich people doesn’t align with your fair moral values? Attracting more money into your life requires you to change these negative thought patterns: with a more optimistic mindset, you can find the courage to ask for a raise from your boss, look for another job, or tap into money-making opportunities you may have previously overlooked.

So how exactly do you rebuild your relationship with money? A great way to start creating positive associations with money is with essential oils. Essential oils, when pure from the plant, creates an aroma that can stimulate both our nervous and olfactory systems, which can make you feel good (synthetics do not produce the same effect). When used in tandem with mindfulness work or meditation, essential oils can help rewire the subconscious mind into creating more positive associations with money.

If you’ve been following The Baller on a Budget for some time now, you might know that essential oils are a huge part of my lifestyle, and I truly enjoy using oils from Edens Garden. These are a few of my favorite essential oils I’ve used to attract more money and promote financial abundance and prosperity around me. For Meditation and Grounding

Guardian

Best For: Expectorant, Cold and flu prevention, Promoting coziness and comfort, Promoting safety
Recommended uses: Topical application to chest and throat, between the brows or down the spine, Diffuse in a room when cleaning or rearranging furniture
Smells Like: Spicy Citrus, Warm, Cozy

Guardian contains Cinnamon Bark, Cinnamon Leaf, and Clove, 3 of which are said to have high vibrational properties that promote both health, longevity, as well as energy. Throughout history, spices have been known to have health benefits and have been an integral part of achieving good health, one of the most valuable things an individual could have. Guardian is ideal to instill hope, positivity, and feelings of safety into someone who feels defeated, especially from chronic or troublesome health conditions.

Guardian is a “hot” oil and must be diluted in a carrier oil when applying topically to prevent a burning sensation to the skin.

Frankincense & Myrrh

Best For: Stress and overwhelm, Anxiety, Spiritual practice
Recommended uses: Diffuse or apply topically during prayer, Setting intentions, Journaling, Breathwork, or Healing
Smells Like: Earthy, herbaceous, yet sweet

Frankincense & Myrrh is a blend containing FrankincenseMyrrh and a mixture of Vanilla, Cedarwood, and Cistus, which makes a surprisingly less “biblical” scent. It smells sweeter thanks to the Vanilla, refreshing with Cedarwood, yet still retails the earthy and grounding properties of Frankincense, Myrrh, and Cistus. It is perfect for those who want the spiritual and meditative properties of both oils but can’t get past the earthy resin scent.

Patchouli

Best For: Deep meditation, Yoga, Hypnotherapy
Recommended Uses: Apply topically for anxiety, Add to beauty regimen for healthy hair, skin and nails
Smells Like: Earthy, Warm, Rustic, Deeply herbaceous

Patchouli a very deep, heady and earthy scent, and if you’re not accustomed to such scents, it may be off-putting to the nose. However, it does have very calming and grounding properties, which can help anxious people who spend a lot of their “in their own heads” by bringing them back down to the ground and finding their center. And the beauty benefits of Patchouli can make one feel full of beauty: you can mix it with a carrier oil and apply it to your hair for luscious locks, or to achieve glowing and radiant skin. It’s an all-in-one beauty multi-tasker for all things hair, skin and nails.

Meditation

Best For: Meditation, Hypnosis, Journaling, Comfort, Peace, Creative Boost
Recommended Uses: Inhale in hands for Breathwork, Apply in-between brows or down the spine during meditation, yoga, or prayer
Smells Like: Sweet, Soft, Refreshing, Woodsy

Meditation offers the same calming, grounding and meditative properties similar to Frankincense & Myrrh or Patchouli, but has a much sweeter scent. It contains a beautiful blend of Lavender, Cedarwood, Bergamot, Palo Santo, Patchouli, Clove, so you have a mix of grounding oils as well as brighter, sweeter, and fruity high-vibe aromas to perk up the spirit. If you want an oil that will calm your nerves and make you feel secure but desire a sweeter aroma, Meditation may be a great pick for you.

Palo Santo

Best For: Increasing good energy and promoting harmony
Recommended Uses: Mix with water and spray in the air before expecting company
Smells Like: Warm, Uplifting, Clean

Where Sage removes old and stagnant energy from a room, it also leaves it empty. Following up with Palo Santo can instantly add harmony, happiness, and good energy into a space. I recommend using this if you’re sensitive to smoke and can’t burn Palo Santo wood in your home. Plus, you can mix it with a carrier oil and wear it on you to keep your mood uplifted.

East Indian Sandalwood

Best For: Reducing Stress, Promoting Relaxation, Unwinding at the end of the day
Recommended Uses: Add to beauty regimen for healthy hair, skin and nails
Smells Like: Fragrant Incense, Spicy

East Indian Sandalwood is a great oil that livens up your space while also inspiring a soothing, strengthening and grounding effect on the body. Intoxicating and exotic with woody and earthy notes, East Indian Sandalwood has an aroma that is one of a kind.

If Sandalwood is out of your price range, you can still get all of the high-vibe properties in a Vanilla Sandalwood Roll-on. Not only is it budget-friendly, but also has a creamy, sumptuous scent thanks to the addition of Vanilla.

To Increase Your Abundance Vibrations

Rose

Best For: Relaxation, Self-Love, Romance, Healing
Recommended Uses: Add a few drops to your lotion or bath, or skincare ritual
Smells Like: Sweet, Floral, Indulgent

Rose is a beautiful healing oil to use if you have experienced wounding through past financial situations. Whether it was a traumatic experience of not having enough money, withholding indulgence from yourself, or feeling undeserving, working with Rose can help you break through limiting beliefs that may be making you feel unworthy of having more money or having nice things. Just like giving or receiving roses symbolizes love, rose oil can help make you feel worthy and loved of financial blessings.

Because Rose oil takes a lot of petals to produce, it is a more precious oil that costs more to produce. You can save money and grab a Rose Roll-on, which carries the same fragrance in a 5% dilution in coconut oil. And if you prefer a floral blend with a hint of citrus, Rose Bergamot is another affordable option.

Jasmine

Best For: Romance, Sensuality, Empowerment
Recommended Uses: Add a few drops to your lotion or bath, or skincare ritual
Smells Like: Heady, Floral, Springtime

If you want a floral aroma but less sweet and more heady, Jasmine is your go-to. Another high-vibe oil, Jasmine also has aphrodisiac properties that can help you feel more sensually abundant and willing to connect with others. Whether it’s overcoming your fear of asking for financial assistance from loved ones or having a serious talk about money with your partner, Jasmine helps you embrace and accept yourself to give you the confidence to connect with others on a more personal level.

To save money, you can grab the Jasmine Roll-on in a 5% dilution or a bottle of Tangerine Jasmine if you prefer something more energizing and citrusy.

Joy

Best For: Creating peaceful and serene moments of happiness
Recommended Uses: Diffuse when friends or family are present, Inhale when feeling sad or lonely
Smells Like: Sweet, soft, calming

Joy can help you recall those happy and beautiful moments and inspire new ones through its floral and citrusy aroma. It contains Sweet Orange, Lavender, Jasmine, which smells like an otherworldly sweet bouquet.

For High Vibrations

Melissa

Best For: Long bouts of sadness or loneliness, Heavy periods of mourning or coping with loss
Recommended Uses: Inhale when feeling sad or lonely, Drop on hands and rub on pillow before bedtime
Smells Like: Lemony, sweet, bright, and floral

Melissa is a highly-coveted oil due to its amazing ability to treat depression. With a lemony and floral aroma, Melissa is a wondrous essential oil that can lift your spirits and calm the mind.

Uplift

Best For: Intense or extended periods of feeling negative or being surrounded by negative energy
Recommended uses: Aromatherapy and breathwork during stressful moments at work
Smells Like: Sweet juicy citrus candy

Uplift is an affordable alternative to Melissa that contains Sweet Orange, Bergamot, as well as Melissa, so if you love citrus oils but want stronger anti-depressant properties, Uplift is for you. Melissa in tandem with the combination of citrus aromas creates an almost candy-like aroma that is sweet, juicy, tangy, and impossible to be upset after smelling. I definitely recommend keeping a bottle of this at your work desk if you have a stressful job.

How Do You Use Essential Oils to Attract More Money?

There are many ways you can incorporate essential oils into your life to promote abundance. There are no right or wrong ways to use them, but for maximum effect, you want to use essential oils during moments where you are handling or dealing with money.

If you send checks for bills in the mail, try lightly rubbing the envelope with a bit of essential oil and inhale it before you send it out. If you check your bank account online, try rubbing 3 drops of oil into your hands and take 3 slow breaths into your hands before you log into your online banking accounts.

Make handling your money a ritual: just like we cleanse ourselves in the shower daily, we can either hop in the shower for 15 minutes and quickly move on with our day, or we can choose to indulge in a candle-lit bathtub soak and some wine instead. Apply this concept to how you manage your finances: you can either choose to check your bank account only when you’re afraid that you don’t have enough this month, or you can check your bank account with love and gratitude for the money that you have.
