Every year I’m always faced with the issue of not knowing what to wear for New Year’s Eve. With other holidays like Christmas, there are plenty of party invitations going around, giving you the opportunity to wear more than one outfit. But NYE means you’ve got to wear one outfit, since you can’t be at more than one party at once.

After rummaging through my closet I’ve managed to come up with 3 outfits perfect for New Year’s festivities. Here are my top 3 contenders.

Outfit #1: Simple and Structured

My friends are probably extremely tired of seeing me in this jumpsuit, but it’s such a chic and comfortable outfit that literally consists of one piece of clothing. With a chunky choker inspired by the famous Céline chain choker often spotted on celebrities like Rihanna, this simple outfit gets played up with some metals and texture.

I also don’t want to forget my favorite studded slingback heels by Kaitlyn Pan. These bad boys are handmade featuring a genuine leather upper and a lambskin insole, just like its designer inspiration created by Valentino.

Shop this look:

Golden Chunky Chain Choker: $6.95

Gold Lion Head Choker: $14.67

18k Gold Plated Choker: $12.99

kensie Strapless Straight-Leg Jumpsuit: $79.00 $46.99

Raquel Cross-Back Jumpsuit: $58.00 $34.80

ASOS Tailored Bandeau Jumpsuit: $61.00 $42.50

Vero Moda Cindy Bandeau Jumpsuit: $73.00 $49.00

Kaitlyn Pan Genuine Leather Studded Heels: $99.72 – $119.00

Outfit #2: Black and Gold

I pulled a little bit of inspiration from one of my favorite fashion icons, Kourtney Kardashian. I know, I know – the Kardashians are overplayed, but you can’t deny their impeccable eye for upcoming trends. Kourtney loves pairing oversized pieces with skimpy pieces and it creates a perfectly balanced outfit. This oversized blazer plays down the gold and glam outfit, making it more approachable and effortless.

I thought the gold bustier would have been too clubby, but it’s New Year’s! The holiday isn’t the same without metallic colors and glitter.

Outfit #3: Lace and Leather

I went a little New York-street for this particular outfit – lingerie has always been taboo to wear as outerwear, but ever since Kim and Khloe Kardashian started hitting the streets with lacey bustiers paired with ripped jeans, it’s slowly becoming more mainstream. Lingerie and denim has always been around, but women are barely starting to feel comfortable wearing underwire corsets in the public.

To balance out the sex appeal from the lacy bustier, I paired it with a leather jacket and faded black jeans to dress it down.
