It’s been a while since my last visit to the spa. And like most, my reasoning isn’t out of the ordinary: I simply don’t have the budget to visit the spa as much as I’d like to.

Of course, by being a frugalista, saving money has become second nature to me, but I’d love it even more if it didn’t revolve time-consuming strategies and jumping through hurdles just to save a few dollars. And let’s face it: spa treatments are definitely one of those luxury activities where you get what you pay for.

While I’ve enjoyed spa deals in the past like a haircut for only $13, I’ve also had some less-than-pleasurable experiences through these discounted treatments like getting stood up by my spa technician or simply having a lazy therapist. This has really made me wonder: isn’t there an easier way to book a quality spa or salon service while saving money at the same time? Do we really have to sacrifice quality for affordability?

Luckily, there is an app that changes all of that – it’s called Spruced Now.

What is Spruced Now?

Spruced allows you to easily search for quality spa providers and book treatments directly through the app. By partnering with local businesses to fill up any available appointments, Spruced provides you with last-minute services at discounted prices.

Does Spruced only offer massages?

Spruced’s variety of “Sprucers,” or spa providers, offer many services from massages, facials, haircuts, hair color, waxing, lash extensions and even float sessions.

What about the quality of the service?

Unlike most schedule-based discount websites and apps, appointment slots on Spruced are added by their Sprucers. By giving Sprucers the ability to control their availability, spas are no longer overwhelmed by a sudden influx of bargain customers looking to redeem coupons. This means that spas will efficiently manage appointments and therefore better accommodate you as a client, and you won’t have to worry about a rushed service or even an appointment cancellation.

And because you can book appointments directly through the app, you won’t run into third-party mishaps nor need to take a couple extra steps to get in touch with the spa yourself. Voila, an inexpensive and easy way to get a luxury treatment – no hassles, no miscommunications.

Are Sprucers located everywhere?

Currently, available Sprucers are located in the San Diego, California area. New providers are constantly being added, which means Spruced may be available in your area in the future.

What’s the catch?

There is none! Spruced is a straightforward and easy-to-use app with no gimmicks or frills – you don’t have to pay for a monthly membership, and you don’t have to plug in a thousand coupon codes and pray that one will work. By booking with a Sprucer you automatically save tons of money on a quality service, because Spruced hustles to get discounted rates for app users.

Another bonus: Occasionally, the app will notify you with deals so that you can save even more!

I just booked a one-hour massage in La Jolla for this weekend and was surprised by how easy and seamless the process was with Spruced. In fact, I was worried if I was missing any steps, but the app actually saves your appointment into your own schedule and you also have the option to add it to your phone calendar. Talk about convenient, right?

I’m extremely excited for my staycation weekend now because this massage is going to be the cherry on top!

Will you be hitting the spa soon? You can download Spruced Now in the iTunes or Google Play Store. New users can get an extra 20% off the first service!
