We’re about 2 1/2 weeks out until Christmas, and if you haven’t completed your Christmas shopping list during Black Friday, chances are you probably haven’t even started shopping yet.
Don’t wait until the last minute – rushed shopping often results in thoughtless gifts. Two of the worst feelings in the world are wasting money and giving a gift that your recipient won’t like (at least, that’s what it feels like to me).
To make life easier for you, I’ve spent the past few weeks compiling a thorough gift guide with products from Amazon for literally every single person you know – all for under $20. If I’ve missed anyone important, leave me a comment!
All of these items are from Amazon, so I recommend picking up a membership with Amazon Prime to get free unlimited 2-day shipping and have your gifts before Christmas. If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can use my link to try it free for 30 days.
For the beauty guru/aspiring make-up artist
This little gadget helps clean off pigment from makeup brushes by wiping the bristles against the sponge. This is really useful for those who work with a number of eyeshadows or use the same brushes for multiple colors.
For a nicer case, you could also buy the Vera Mona Color Switch Solo for $18.00, which is still under $20 – although, you’d be paying nearly $10 more just for a metal case.
Skinfood Rice Mask: $6.69
If you know someone who is really into cute packaging or Korean beauty products, Skinfood’s Rice Mask is a godsend. For less than $7, you can give that girl a brightening and lightly exfoliating mask.
For the hippie child
Crystal Gemstone Chakra Kit: $11.85
The person who’s into things like zodiac signs, auras and chakras will love this gemstone set. This kit features 7 stones, 1 for each chakra. Your gift recipient will thank you and thenstart telling you how important it is to have all 7 chakras properly function because they flow together, and then might proceed to tell you the history of chakras and how they are relevant to spiritual peace. That’s what I do. Just ask my boyfriend.
For the natural remedy buff
Made by my favorite essential oil brand Edens Garden, Four Thieves is an affordable dupe for Young Living’s Thieves oil. This is a great multipurpose oil that can prevent cold and flu and can disinfect mostly everything. It also has a very cinnamon-y, warm scent that’s perfect for the holidays.
For the dad that doesn’t seem to like remotely anything
iPhone 6/7 Charging Dock: $8.49
Whether it’s your own dad or your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife’s dad, sometimes there’s that one father that’s tough to buy things for because he’s got a stoic and reserved personality. If he’s got an iPhone, this chic charging dock and speaker will be something you know he’ll use daily.
For the well-groomed man
Omega Shaving Set: $16.99
For the man that grows facial hair fast and enjoys a clean shave, this kit is a perfect match. It comes with a shaving brush, stand, soap, and a bowl, and is still under $20. Don’t forget that he’ll need a razor, although he’ll more than likely already have one.
For the man that enjoys indulging in a lush shower, this body bar is both moisturizing and exfoliating from pumice, jojoba meal and crushed olive seeds. It has a nice masculine scent for those who may be a little insecure about using spa products – they don’t want to smell like a woman!
For the gadget buff or gamer
It’s no Oculus Rift, but there have been some great games available on both the Android and iPhone app stores. With this headset, you just secure your phone and play. Many of these headsets are mass-manufactured, so you’ll see many of the same headsets with different brand logos. But more or less, they’re the same.
For the sneaker collector or streetwear enthusiast
While a nice pair of sneakers is probably well over your budget, you can assume this person already has an extensive sneaker collection. Jason Markk’s shoe cleaner is one of the best cleaners on the market – just ask any shoe collector! Just a bit of this cleaner has made even my white Adidas look brand new.
For the classic and refined woman
The frugalista in me would never dare to spend $20 on a candle, but there have been these “ring candles” floating around the internet. They are quality candles with a piece of jewelry inside, along with a code which you can redeem online for the chance to win a real piece of jewelry valued into the thousands. It’s like Cracker Jack for women.
For the go-getting entrepreneur
Every person that works for themselves understands how important it is to stay motivated. This little book has been revolutionary to me in keeping me driven to chase my dreams. It takes less than 20 minutes to read and is life-changing. At $3, you could give these in little gift bags along with homemade goodies or even mini bottled shots. If you’d like it to be more meaningful, it might be worth it to snag the hardcover version, which is still only $11.
Aqua Notes (2-pack): $7.63
The best ideas come in the shower, but as soon as you’re done you may have already forgotten it. With this handy waterproof notepad, you can tear out one of these notes and take it with you – no need to bring the whole pad!
I know a few friends who are chronic cussers, and many of them blame their stressful desk jobs for it. That said, these little stickies might brighten up one of their shitty days at work. Fuck yeah.
For the starving artist
Steal Like an Artist: $9.59
Popular amongst many freelance artists, this iconic little book is great to motivate and inspire anyone, especially if they’re experiencing a creative block. If the person you’re gifting already has this book, you can always get Austin Kleon’s 2nd book “Show Your Work,” which is only $8.10.
For the DIY crafty person
Diamond Glass Hanging Terrarium: $18.90
This gorgeous terrarium is a perfect piece of decor that your DIYer friend will love to use. I’m sure you know, but the plant isn’t included – that’s where the DIY comes in.
For the person who always seems to be on a diet (aka me)
Choc Zero (3-bags): $14.99
Anyone who’s yo-yo dieted as much as I have knows how crucial that moment is when you break. Choc Zero has saved me through some tough times during my keto diet (a radical diet featuring less than 20g of carbs a day!). It doesn’t have a disgusting aftertaste like most sugar-free or low-carb chocolates do, thanks to the monk fruit extract. A single square has fought off potential binges for me!
For the wine-o
Vintorio Wine Aerator Pourer and Decanter Spout: $15.95
This aerator is a nifty little mechanism that attaches to a wine bottle to enhance flavors and prevent spills. The aerator has a chamber that allows the wine to oxidize, letting you salvage even a cheap bottle of wine. Pro-tip: getting this for one of those people who pretend to be fancy but no nothing about wines will earn you brownie points.
For the coffee addict
Mason Jar Cold Brew Coffee Maker: $19.99
This cold brew coffee maker is perfect for those who thrive on coffee but need to speed up their morning regimen. Simply steep your coffee overnight and have it ready by morning!
For the chef (aka probably Mom)
For the cook who makes fancier dishes like soufflés and créme brûlée, these small personal-sized ramekins are perfect. Many ramekins aren’t safe past 425-degrees nor are suitable for the broiler, but these HIC ones are safe up to 500 degrees (yes, that’s not a typo) and are also broiler-safe.
For the party host or foodie who takes really good pictures of food
This chic marble serving board was made for that person who loves throwing dinner parties. You can serve anything from grapes to cheese and crackers on this, making it both fashionable and functional.
I know a few people who are incredibly busy but still make time to prepare healthy meals and hit the gym. Most of them prepare meals for the week and separate them into containers. Any avid meal-prepper would thank you for this. Bonus: They’re microwavable!
For the woman who has way too many shoes and bags (again, me)
A good solution to throwing her purses into the closet or floor, this organizer is a great way to preserve the life of those expensive investments. Pro tip: tell her to stuff them with paper so the purses don’t lose their shape.
If she (or I daresay, he) has enough room in the house but not enough space in her closet to organize her shoes, this would be a great gift. Bonus: forcing her to organize her shoes might lead her to find a long-lost pair amongst her infinite mountain of shoes.
For the person who always seems to be well-dressed no matter what occasion
There’s always going to be that one girl that needs a coordinated outfit for every single day. This mountable garment rack not only doubles as a modern piece of decor, but serves as a rack to organize your garments too! Total game-changer when you’ve got a busy week ahead but need to stay well-dressed.
For the fur-parent
I feel like there should be a law where every pet owner should have this device. Not only is it a retractable leash, but it also has a light and a BAG DISPENSER. This takes away two excuses from owners who don’t pick up after their pets: 1) “It’s dark, so I didn’t see he was pooping.” and 2) “I didn’t have a bag.”
For the outdoorsy person
LifeStraw Personal Water Filter: $19.99
Just in case your outdoor explorer friend gets stranded and pulls a 127 Hours, this LifeStraw water filter might literally save their life. Using this device, they can drink safely out of a stream or body of water, making it a great addition to their emergency kit.
For the new mom who no longer has eyes for anything else except their baby
Clay Handprint Keepsake Kit: $13.95
For human mothers and fur-mothers alike, this kit is great to capture the handprint, footprint, pawprint, faceprint, assprint, or anything of your child/victim. I’m literally laughing as I type this because I know some people who’ve tried this with unmentionable body parts.
Just get this for the mom you know.
For the easy target or person who always seems to be getting into some sort of dangerous situation
I’m not exaggerating when I say that there is hardly ever a time where my female friends and I don’t feel threatened or unsafe by ourselves in a metropolitan area, especially in Downtown LA. Getting a stun gun in a really bright color will help during those sticky situations where you have to fiddle through your bag and find something to protect yourself with.
For the musician
Muzjig Premium Pick Cutter: $19.95
I remember back in high school I’d use old gift cards and cut them out into picks because I was always losing mine. Now you can make legit picks out of old key cards, gift cards or any other thin plastics! It also comes with plastic, so you can punch away and make 50 picks.
Ask any drummer you know, and they will tell you they’ve had a stick or two fly out of their hands before. I love using Zildjian dip sticks because the rubber makes for some good grip (before you start questioning if I’m just selling you stuff I’ve never even used at this point, I played quite a bit before I sold my drumset a while back). Any drummer will thank you for this, especially the ones with sweaty hands.
For the low-key morbid person
PyroPet Candles Bibi Candle: $18.00
The popular Kisa kitten candle by PyroPet has been floating around the Internet for a while now, but at $33.99 for a single candle, it’s not practical for a one-time-use gift. Since most luxury candles are around $20, this one makes a good gift for those who like skeletons, cute things, and generally just want to watch the world burn. When this candle melts, the wax reveals a metal skeleton. It’s a really cute candle that has some morbid undertones.
For the photographer
It’s no Canon luxury lens, but this little lens kit comes with 8 attachments, allowing that photographer or iPhoneographer you know to produce some artistic images with their smartphone.
I think I’ve exhausted every personality archetype I know, so leave a comment if I’m missing someone crucial!
Don’t forget that you’ll save both money and time when you have Amazon Prime. If you don’t already have it, click here to try Amazon Prime free for 30 days. You’ll be saving over hundreds of dollars in shipping fees for the month of December alone.
