Southern California has a wide variety of cities and towns to visit. From Beverly Hills to San Diego and even Palm Springs, there is never a dull moment.
Unfortunately, with most major cities, luxury hotels can become quite pricey. Motels have become a popular choice for most travelers due to higher-priced activities and restaurants in California, while 3-star hotels can start at $180 and up.
Fortunately, the Ayres Hotel Collection has expanded to several locations across Southern California. This boutique hotel collection has opened a variety of unique hotels that offer a classy hotel experience with a reasonable price tag.
Every Ayres hotel room features a Serta Celestial Sleeper mattress, which is the only official mattress of the National Sleep Foundation. This mattress is designed to relieve the most common sleep-related problems: tossing and turning, lack of support, extreme mattress temperatures, partner disturbances and mattress sag. This makes for an extremely comfortable night’s rest.
Aside from the standard hotel room furnishings like a desk, TV and other commodities, many of their hotels are “green,” meaning they are eco-friendly and reduce electricity usage. To power the light in the room, you must insert your room key into a slot in the wall and leave it there. Upon leaving the room, taking your room key assures that the electricity will not stay on while you’re gone.
The Ayres Hotel is reputed to be one of the cleanest hotel chains in Southern California. Their housekeeping staff across all properties follow a strict cleaning routine, making sure to maintain the quality and cleanliness of all rooms and public facilities.
Bedbugs and roaches have never been an issue at any of the properties. You can rest easy knowing that creepy-crawlies won’t disturb your sleep!
The ratings on TripAdvisor don’t lie. Every hotel in their collection is known widely for their friendly and supportive staff. Need a towel or some toiletries? They’ll run it up to you. TV not working? They’ll send someone to set your cable up right away. Need ideas for a local dinner? Their staff is informed with the latest and greatest businesses in their respective areas.
Staff of all properties I have been to have always been extremely generous with recommendations and help, which is a huge reason why I am a continued patron of their hotels.
Pools, spas, you name it – Ayres prides themselves in indulging their guests with a luxury experience. Their Mission Viejo property features the on-site Athena Day Spa. Come get a massage or facial or even schedule a private yoga session. The Ayres doesn’t provide just a hotel room for the night, but an immersive, all-inclusive retreat.
All of their properties serve a complimentary continental breakfast, which is absolutely amazing. Their Moreno Valley property is by far one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had! The chefs served us customized omelets upon request, along with fresh bacon, sausages, and huge Belgian waffles. There is plenty more food available at their breakfasts, making it a hit with locals too – I’ve seen locals come in the mornings and pay for a breakfast voucher to get the amazing breakfasts that hotel guests get for free.
Best available rates are always booked through their company website and range anywhere between $122 – $169 for a standard deluxe room, depending on the property. Their luxury location, the Allegretto at Paso Robles starts at roughly $300 and up per night.
Many 3-star hotels in California are competitive with the same prices, but I’ve always found their services or accommodations to be somewhat lackluster when compared to the Ayres collection. With Ayres, you get the best bang for your buck.
As a Southern California locale, I have had so many staycations in nearly every major city, and have always counted on the Ayres Hotels to provide me with a luxury experience right in the comfort of my backyard. Make no mistake – if you plan on traveling to California, be sure to keep the Ayres at the top of your list if you want value, luxury, and excellent service in one hotel.
