Clarisonic is the brand that pioneered the market of sonic facial brushes. Years ago, when the first Clarisonic came out, women all around scoured Sephora and QVC in search of one. These bad boys weren’t popular for no reason.
Back when I had a Clarisonic, I absolutely fell in love with it. Nothing cleared up my clogged pores better than that brush!
Years passed and I learned to take better care of my skin. I eventually sold my Clarisonic on eBay. However, recently I’ve unfortunately started to break out and started to miss my trusty facial brush. But I wasn’t fond of the idea of forking up $169 plus tax for another Mia 2.
I wound up purchasing an off-brand exact dupe of the Clarisonic Mia 2, which wound up being the exact same product minus the branding. The Jecnovo-brand brush was $89.99 on Amazon and I managed to get a discount, bringing it down to $55.99. Regardless, even without the discount, $89.99 is almost 50% off of Clarisonic’s MSRP of $169, which is still an impressive bargain.
Unfortunately, Amazon has taken down all dupes similar to the Mia 2. Not to fear, though: I’ve compiled a list of affordable and fierce contenders for the Clarisonic (and no, Olay’s ProX Brush isn’t the only decent affordable cleansing brush on the market). Keep reading below for my top picks!
Waterproof Rating: IPX7 – Highest, can drop in water
Power: Wireless Charging Cradle
Speed Modes: 3
Brushes: Includes 3 (Normal, sensitive, body brush)
The most similar to the Clarisonic in terms of aesthetic and durability, this off-brand brush is sleek and features wireless charging as well as 3 speeds, 1 more than the Mia 2.
Lavo Giro Electric Cleansing Brush: $28.97
The Lavo Giro is a better bargain than most brushes at this price point. I’m surprised that this brush has a waterproof rating of IPX6, which is quite high. This brush is safe to use in the shower too!
SmarToiletries LILYA 2 Speed Sonic Facial Brush: $24.95
This brush may be perfect for those with sensitive skin, as it includes two softer brushes. I am impressed with the 1,000-day warranty as well, especially for the price of the product!
I am concerned about the durability of this brush in a wet environment because there was no official waterproof rating, but plenty of customers have stated that they have used it in the shower with no problems. I would advise to keep it away from wet areas as much as possible to avoid battery corrosion.
COSBEAUTY Sonic Facial Cleansing Brush: $59.59
My favorite feature of this particular brush is its intuitive system that changes cleansing mode and intensities, just like my old Clarisonic did. Each time it beeps it changes modes, prompting you to move onto different parts of the face.
Trésutopia Aquacaresse Sonic Cleansing Brush: $24.99
A unique feature of this brush set is that they include a silicone brush head to gently exfoliate keratinized skin cells (perfect for dry, scaly skin or acneic skin without being too aggressive). I haven’t seen this feature in many brushes, making it unique for specific skincare needs.
Essential Skin Solutions Face and Body Brush Cleansing System: $23.97
Waterproof: Yes, no rating
Power: 4 AA batteries
Speed Modes: 1
Brushes: Includes 4 brushes (sensitive, normal, body, pumice)
This brush is perfect for body brushing. For those who struggle with back acne or ingrown hairs, the large body brush is a good solution for both problems. I also love the pumice stone, as it’s perfect for dry feet during the summer when sandals are worn frequently.
TOUCHBeauty Rotary Facial Cleansing Brush: $16.98
Power: 2 AA batteries
Speed Modes: 2
Brushes: Includes 1 soft brush
This is the most affordable brush out of this round-up, but not a weak contender. Although this value brush kit comes with one brush, it boasts an IPX6 waterproof rating, making it functional for the shower and humid environments. Bonus: It comes with a cute stand you can keep on your bathroom counter.
KINGDOMCARES Sonic Facial Brush Cleansing System: $34.99
Power: Wireless Cradle Charger
Speed Modes: 3
Brushes: 2 normal brush heads
I’m in love with both the pink and blue colors of this brush! On top of that, the wireless cradle charger reminds me a lot of the original Clarisonic cradle charger.
This kit is a no-fuss kit with no unnecessary, gimmicky brush heads – simply 2 of the same normal brushes.
